Introduction

The Rolleicords Va and Vb cameras offered the option to expose 16 frames of 4×5.5 cm on Roll film 120 by using a 16 exposures film counter. A special film counter with 24 exposures was also available. The sets included masks for the film gate and the view finders. The counters of the Rolleicord Va and Vb can be exchanged by he user.

16 or 24 Exposures Set

The sets consist of:

The differences between the 12 and 24 exposures sets are obvious. The variants for Va and Vb differ only in the focusing screen masks caused by different finders. See the following table for particulars.

The Rolleicord Va has the 1950s style of finder hood. It is non-detachable by the user. When being closed front and back fold down while the left and right sides sink into the camera body. The focusing screen mask is made of metal. It is to be put on top of the focusing screen. The Rolleicord Vb has the post-1958 First Generation detachable finder hood. This hood folds completely down on to the screen by pinching its sides. The finder needs a differently shaped plastic mask that is inserted under the focusing screen. This later screen can also be recognised from a pinhole and a notch. It is not present in all sets, only in later made sets.
